What virtual computing does? It makes the operating system ,it puts its own
in like little container I guess you could say, that container is then running
on hardware but what you can do in the virtual world. If something fails and
the particular hardware. You can have that that instance of that operating
system automatically migrate to another piece of hardware another server system
and keep going so ,if you have a redundancy Using virtualization what can
happen as you can have three physical servers lined up so you have one server
on one hand the CPU RAM hard drive, the second on other hand CPU RAM hard drive,
and also a third system CPU RAM hard drive.
You will install the virtualization
software on all three of those servers when everything is running properly. Let's
say that operating system that server operating system is running on on server
one on first hand. Now through the power of virtualization through the power
cloud computing let's say the power supply in this first server fails, it failed
it dies. Well through virtualization will happen out of the operating system
automatically transfers to the next server in this little clusters so this hard
drive fails, the operating system and everything just migrates over and everything keeps
running to the services for your network keep running so back in the day .The
power supply fail on an email server then all the email stopped working until
you fix the problem. Now the entire operating system everything can simply
migrate to new piece of hardware and
everything stays up and run.
That is what I mean by separating the
applications from the operating system
from the hardware. Now in the cloud computing those can be their own separate
components and can migrate as needed. So this article is going to be on cloud
computing and the under underlying concepts around it. The one thing I warn you,
I no going in the cloud computing. Probably the first thing you're thinking
about is what I just talked about virtual computers. People you know think
virtual computer are equals cloud computing. The Main thing to realize as we go
to the article so that you know where I'm coming from is that virtual computers
the virtual computing is a component of cloud computing, but cloud computing is
far more than simple virtual computer. So virtual computers ease a component of
cloud computing but cloud computing in comprises is allot more different types
of technologies.
So, Today we're going to be talking about what applications, talking about
database clusters. We also are going to talk about Terminal Services , application
servers and going to talk about virtualization I just talked about, hosted
instances Hosted solution . Public vs. private cloud and give you some final thoughts
how these things come together.
